Searching for a place to connect?
There is hope as you've made it this far...
Community Gospel Church is a place where people from every walk of life, various cultural backgrounds, and even different generations are coming together to become a people of connection and compassion! As you look at a puzzle, the pieces only fit where there is relationship to another piece. Unlike a two dimensional jigsaw puzzle, we believe that our lives are molded and shaped by the connections we make through relationships.
At CGC, it is our desire to provide opportunities for people of all ages to make meaningful connections. Connections not only with one another, but also with God through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
Motivated by compassion and connected in relationship and community, we hope to see our lives, our community, and our world transformed to become all God has intended for us.
Each week we seek to fellowship, worship, pray, learn, and grow together to become more like Christ.
Our nursery staff and Children's workers are there to provide a safe and child friendly environment to help your kids make meaningful connections too!
We invite you to be our guest, and you might just find your place in God's big puzzle!
We look forward to connecting with you and your family.
Flip-Flop Religion
Read Malachi 1:1 through 4:6
Would you wear flip-flops to a meeting with the president of the United States? A group of college athletes did. Many of the girls’ parents were horrified and embarrassed when they saw the photos on television.
Most people would want to put their best foot forward, so to speak, when meeting with dignitaries. They’d likely make an extra effort to be polite and respectful for government leaders and other powerful individuals.
Rulers were highly esteemed and honored by the majority of the population in Malachi’s time as well. Yet many people weren’t giving God this kind of respect. They shortchanged Him by offering sacrifices that were feeble or sickly, in open defiance of His laws (Malachi 1:14). They even complained about having to worship and serve Him. They were going through the motions of being religious, but their efforts were insincere.
God, who is infinitely greater than any human leader, deserves our honor and respect. We should give Him not only the best we have to offer, but all we have to offer—our lives, love, talents, time, resources, and service.
Prayer Suggestion: Ask God to show you if there is anything you’re withholding from Him.
